Life's Unexpected Events

Everyone experiences unexpected events that shake their world in a negative way. How we react to them shapes our attitudes and actions. Usually, but not always, we are able to reach a new equilibrium within different circumstances. A few years ago, I became the custodian of a large number of diaries of people whom I am related to who went through the world-shaking events in the first half of the 20th century. Events like WW1, the Bolshevik revolution, the two famines in Southern Russia (now Ukraine) and WW2. So, this website is dedicated to the 1st person accounts of my relations who lived through these events. Also, I have put together portraits of those mentioned in them.
