In 1939, my Grandpa's family moved from their farm near Dundurn, Saskatchewan to the Toronto area. On their way, they stopped to visit their relatives near Winnipeg. This move very much altered the life direction of my father and his siblings, both for good and for ill. One negative consequence was that there was no home base for the siblings as they never all lived together thereafter.
Below is a photo of this visit of the descendents of Abraham A. Klassen. The identification of the people were made by my aunt Agnes Klassen. The key for numbers in blue ink on top of the photo are shown below (from my aunt's perspective).
No. 2 is my grandpa, No. 4 is Gerhard Classen, No. 6 is my father, No. 13 is David Klassen, No. 8 is Erica Klassen, No. 19 is Margaret Klassen. Absent in the photo is my aunt Agnes. Also absent is my uncle Dietrich, who by this time had moved to Germany.
