AgAneta Dirks funeral

The funeral of Aganeta Dirks in 1911 was a seminal event in the life of the Dirks, Rempels and Klassens before the Bolshevik Revolution. Although the photo is low contrast, the key to who was where is shown below. 

The man in the center (No. 12) was Heinrich Dirks, Sr. Numbers 1 and 2 on the left were my newly married grandparents. Number 10, just behind and to the right of Heinrich Dirks was my great grandfather. Number 14, just to Heinrich Dirk's left is his daughter, Maria. Maria wrote a very intimate account of caring for her mother in her last few months in the account shown below the photo key.
