Klassen Roots

Most of the earliest information we have on the Klassen family tree was compiled by our aunt Agnes Klassen.  Thankfully, we have photos of many of the ones in our heritage, beginning about 1900. The photos taken  then were exclusively black and white and the poses look stilted by today's standards. One reason is that exposure times were several minutes so the subjects had to hold their pose for that long. Therefore, it was easier to give a natural, albeit unsmiling, portrait.
