Dietrich G. Rempel was one of the five Rempel kids who emigrated to America from South Russia. His brother, Herman, kept a diary of their nearly year-long journey.
After emigrating, Dietrich held a wide variety of jobs as well as trained as a sculptor. Later, he became an entrepreneur who started the Rempel Manufacturing company in Akron, Ohio in the late 1940's.
Dietrich was instrumental in helping my uncle Dietrich Klassen and his family emigrate from Germany to Akron, Ohio in 1953.
