My Aunt Alma, cousin Regina and my uncle Dietrich Klassen, circa late 1940's. Uncle Dietrich had a complicated history with my dad. Through the sometimes randomness of life, the brothers managed to fight on opposite sides during WW II.
One of my memories of Uncle Dietrich was just before the wedding of his youngest son, Ed. We were at the suit rental store and Ed said that it was expected that ushers would pay for their own rental. I was unprepared for this and didn't have a credit card. So, I stared for a few seconds with a "deer caught in the headlights" expression. Uncle Dietrich came to my rescue and offered a credit card from his wallet.
